Bring the GoPro Mission 1's focus closer - and add a standard 58mm filter mount

Finally, get sharp handheld and close-up shots with your Mission 1. The adapter adds a standard 58mm filter mount to the Mission 1, and the +2 close-focus filter brings optimum focus in from approximately 1.5 m to 37.5 cm (15").

The GoPro Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro use a fixed-focus lens with a relatively long minimum focus distance, which makes close-up subjects difficult to get in focus. This is especially problematic when vlogging, shooting handheld at arm's length, or filming products and other nearby details.

The +2 close-focus lens screws directly into the 58mm adapter, bringing the camera's focus much closer when you need it. Remove it, and the same adapter can be used with the huge range of other standard 58mm photographic filters and accessories.

The adapter simply slips over the Mission 1's original lens cover and is secured with two small set screws. No modification to the camera is required.

+2 Close Focus — for vlogging, handheld and close-up shooting

Bring the Mission 1’s focus dramatically closer: from a stock near-focus limit of about 60 cm / 24 in down to approximately 27 cm / 11 in, with optimum focus around 37.5 cm / 15 in.

The +2 lens shifts the entire focus range closer, so it is intended for handheld, vlogging and close-up shooting rather than distant subjects.

That makes the +2 version particularly useful for:

• Handheld vlogging and selfie video
• People filmed at arm's length
• Product and detail shots
• Food and tabletop shooting
• Technical and inspection footage
• Other close-up subjects that are difficult to get in focus with the stock Mission 1 lens

And then things get interesting...

The +2 close-focus lens solves a very practical problem, but the standard 58mm thread also opens the Mission 1 up to an enormous world of creative filters that will likely never be made specifically for the camera.

Prism and kaleidoscope filters, starbursts, anamorphic-style streaks, diffusion and mist, split diopters, color effects and plenty of genuinely strange optical filters are readily available in 58mm.

58mm Adapter with UV Filter
Choose this version if you mainly want to add a standard 58mm filter mount to your Mission 1. It includes the adapter, a 58mm UV filter, lens cap and hex wrench.

58mm Adapter with +2 Close Focus Lens
Choose this version if you want to bring the Mission 1's focus closer for vlogging, handheld shooting and nearby subjects. It includes the adapter, 58mm +2 close-focus lens, lens cap and hex wrench.

Simple, secure installation

1. Slide the adapter over the Mission 1's original lens cover.
2. Tighten the two set screws using the included hex wrench.
3. Screw your 58mm filter onto the adapter.

That's it. There is no adhesive, no modification to the camera, and the original GoPro lens cover remains in place.
