At Camera Butter, we believe great footage comes from skill, creativity, and gear that won’t hold you back. That’s why we obsess over every detail of the ND filters and other camera accessories we create. From precision-machined aluminum frames to exceptionally tough Corning Gorilla Glass optics, every product we ship is built to withstand the real-world abuse of action sports, FPV flights, and adventure filmmaking.

This all started because we were frustrated. We were tired of seeing promising footage ruined by cheap filters, poor quality glass, or flimsy designs that cracked under pressure. So we decided to make something better. Something we’d actually trust on our own cameras, whether they’re strapped to a speeding drone, a helmet, or a racecar.

Built for real people who care about the shot

Our customers aren’t “users” or “targets.” You’re filmmakers, pilots, weekend warriors, and creative pros. You’re trying to get a shot, finish a project, win a race, or come home with footage you’re proud of. We know what it’s like to crash a drone, miss a shot, or chase the perfect frame. Beyond Action Cameras

Camera Butter filters are used in everything from FPV racing and professional video production to research and machine-vision applications. We have supplied filters to Project Mineral at X, the moonshot research division of Alphabet (Google’s parent company), for its agricultural imaging and robotics work. Projects at X are built around unusually ambitious engineering problems, making Mineral a particularly demanding real-world application for our optics.

That same focus on compact, predictable optical performance also makes some of our existing filters useful for machine vision and industrial imaging applications.

Why “Camera Butter”?

The name is a bit of a nod to the old-school practice of using grease or Vaseline on a lens to soften the image and give footage a different character. We liked the reference, and the name stuck. These days, it also feels like a reference to the smooth, cinematic motion that makes you say, “damn, that looks like butter.”
